Jerry Johnson is a legal executive, privacy leader, technologist, and builder working at the intersection of law, artificial intelligence, healthcare, enterprise risk, and digital trust. As Chief Privacy Officer and Vice President, Corporate Counsel at Teladoc Health, he advises a complex, highly regulated business on how to move quickly without sacrificing sound judgment, accountability, or trust.

His work is grounded in a modern view of legal leadership: the best legal teams do more than identify risk. They help the business make better decisions, design durable systems, and turn emerging technology into responsible operational advantage. Jerry has helped bring that philosophy to life through practical AI-enabled legal workflows that have reduced work measured in hours and days to minutes—while preserving attorney oversight and verifiable authority.

That builder identity began well before today’s AI moment. In 2012, during the emergence of Detroit’s modern technology ecosystem, Jerry co-founded Detroit Rails, a web development bootcamp created to help people enter the growing digital economy. He continues to design and build for the web, bringing an entrepreneur’s instinct and a designer’s eye to his legal and business work.

Jerry earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and the District of Columbia and lives in the Detroit area with his wife and children.
